Originally from the Midwest, Sara was one of the first cases diagnosed for celiac disease at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Growing up gluten-free, Sara has experienced and seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities with gluten-free products in the market. During her time in Michigan, Sara was an active member of the Tri-County Celiac Support Group, and advocated for legislation regarding strict food labeling in public schools at the State Capitol. Since moving to New York City, Sara is most recently expanding her gluten free network through Celiac & The City a local activation and support group to raise awareness and research funding for celiac disease. She counts the Sprinkles Gluten-Free Red Velvet Cupcake as one of her favorite GF indulgences.
