1. Who do you look forward to seeing/meeting most at FABC and why?
I can’t wait to meet and congratulate the fabulous minds behind this conference. Jenny and Homa are such an inspiration with their blogs and in spreading allergy awareness, but now with this conference, they’ve reached a new level – one that I certainly aspire to.
2. Which of your blog posts are you most proud of and why?
My blog is a bit of a mixed bag as not only do I discuss food and other allergies, but I write about eczema and asthma as well – with a sprinkling of natural living topics as well. So, I’d have to say, that I’m proud to offer posts that anyone living with an allergic condition can relate to. However, one that is especially close to my heart when I shared the details behind my son’s first anaphylactic experience. Writing about it really helped me emotionally, and the feedback from the allergy community was so moving and so very much needed. It was a hard piece to write, but it was told from the heart and from a very honest place.

I was really happy to share a post about why an food elimination diet can be very beneficial for those suffering from eczema or asthma. Many people believe that only the foods that appear positive in food allergy tests can trigger eczema or asthma, but that’s not usually the case. In many cases, food sensitivities or intolerances can trigger these allergic conditions. The problem becomes how to identify them. This is where elimination diets are so very helpful. It was how we determined which foods were wreaking havoc on my poor little son’s body resulting in head to toe burn-like wounds. An elimination diet sounds hard, but it’s really not too difficult, and the results can be miraculous.

4. What is the best thing about food allergies?
They’ve led our family to a more organic and natural life style. Because of my son’s multiple food allergies, I became a diligent label reader out of necessity and was shocked to discover all the horrific things that’s being added into our food supply these days.
6. What is the best thing about the online food allergy community?
How everyone is so supportive! It’s incredible and I’ve never seen anything like it! I’m grateful to be a part of it and to bask in the glow of all these lovely individuals.
7. What other blogger would you most like to meet and why?
I can’t wait to finally meet my conference roomie, Selena Bluntzer! http://foodallergybloggerconference.com/2013/06/04/amazing-and-atopic-qa/ We’ve “known” each other online for some time now and it’s going to be surreal to finally really sit down and chat with her.
